Wedding Gift - Personalised Cut Outs

I LOVE LETTERS
and anything to do with letters. Much of my work is Wedding Invitations and Stationery.... but I also offer a gift service,
for those who are looking for something that little bit different.

Here's a couples favourite quotation....
cut from paper......

Two hearts,
that beat
as one

The couple had this printed on the front of their invites,
so it was clear they loved the quote....

So their Chief Bridesmaid
had it commissioned for them.

The piece was sandwiched between 2 pieces of glass, creating a floating frame.
The advantage of this is that any background you put it against, with naturally show through
so there's no need to worry about what their colour scheme is.

Personalised Wedding Plaques Made To Order

As well as other personalised items we offer at the studio, these personalised A4 sized Wedding Plaques are ideal as Wedding Gifts.

Each one is personalised with the couples name and date of their wedding. As these plaques are made from painted MDF they are a little pricey to send through the post, we therefore suggest that they are only suitable for callers to the studio :-)

A Simple Alternative Wedding Guest Book

Anyone who has ever used a Guest Book knows how difficult it can be to get people to write in it. Often the Bride and Groom or the person celebrating the occasion, is far to busy to remind people and some people find the large white pages rather daunting.

There is however, a simple alternative...
This Blessing or Wish Tree was made using twisted Willow, but you can also use twisted Hazel. Simply place in a decorative, sturdy pot and hang things from them.

Make or buy cards. These are roughly 7cm x 10cm, have room on the front for the guests name and are plain white on the back for the message.

I'm making these to sell and they will be available in any colour choice. I intend to punch a hole in the top and hang from a ribbon.

They're great for guests to write their wishes or little snippets of advice on the back, and afterwards, they can be stored in a suitable little box, where they can be read often.

Personalised Plaque - wedding Gift Idea

Once again I've been playing with my plotter and often get asked to make vinyl signs of all descriptions. So I set to and created a personalised sign for the lovely Bride and Groom to be.

The plaque background is a neutral cream which suits any colour vinyl.

The personalised plaques are 21cm x 30cm, thick MDF and are on sale for £10 each (plus p&p if you can't collect) and act as a lasting memento of the special day.

They can also be made to celebrate the birth of a baby perhaps... or choose your own words!

Personalised, Made To Order Banners

I saw these in the local craft shop and couldn't resist the temptation to buy them. Normally I would have cut my own, but the fancy, scalloped deckle edge, didn't seem worth the effort, when I could buy them ready made...added to that, it made sense to have more time to play and get creative.

My first thought was for Wedding Banners.... possibly with Mr & Mrs on, or because it's almost Valentines day, simply the word LOVE.

The letters are cut from Vinyl and the banners can be made to order....perhaps even finding a use for Birthdays. E.g. Chloe's 18th?

All in all, I'm pretty pleased with the results and I'm offering any name or greeting at £1 per letter and the lettering can be cut in most colours. I

love them and I'm already thinking of other things I can do with them. What about kids bedrooms? Letters co-ordinated to match the room....or choose 2 colours. The choice is yours and the ideas endless.

A Personalised Framed Gift and Card to Welcome a New Arrival

Everyone loves to welcome new arrivals. This framed personalised poster and card were done for my Daughter-In-Laws, sister-in-law's first baby....if that makes any sense.

Created in beautiful bright pinks as a lasting reminder of the special day. The framed piece is a print which is personalised with the babys name, date of birth, weight and time and the decoration of tumbling stars is also added on as extra. The whole thing mounted and framed and a personalised card makes a unique and very personal gift for the new arrival.

For further information on these or any other items on this blog, email me at inspiredbyscript@yahoo.co.uk or call into the studio in Northallerton if you can. We love seeing people :o)

Cloths of Heaven - W B Yeats in Calligraphy

Commission - Cloths of Heaven - W B Yeats

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,

Enwrought with golden and silver light,

The blue and the dim and the dark cloths

Of night and light and the half-light,

I would spread the cloths under your feet:

But I, being poor, have only my dreams;

I have spread my dreams under your feet;

Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

It's always nice to work on a commission, especially when it is for a special occasions. This poem, Cloths of Heaven by W B Yeats must be one of my favourites.

The lettering colour choice was to be Aubergine and Plum to fit in with a particular colour scheme. Plum purple, silver and burgundy red, pastel hearts tumble down the page to compliment the lettering wonderfully.

The whole piece was mounted in a single plum mount which really set the whole piece off.

Commissions come to me for many different occasions. This one was for a 20th Wedding Anniversary from a wife to her husband.

Materials:

Fabriano 5, Gouache, Pastels and Silver paint.

Cut Letters - Birthday Card for Pam

Just a quick post today....A handmade Birthday Card, made using the cutter. Beautiful purples and lined with lavender. I think the white contrast looks stunning against this colour.

I'm planning on offering these as personalised on of a kind pieces in the studio....but I will have to get a wee bit quicker to make them profitable... this one took me 3 hours!

Ideal Baby Gift - Baby Birth Journal

I loved doing this journal. I often get asked to do all sorts of unusual things and if it involves Lettering, Calligraphy and/or Bookbinding I will certainly consider it.

This book is far a baby boys photos and memories of when he was young. The first page is personalised with his birth details ..

And we added 3 quotations throughout the book. This one is a particularly popular one: Babies are born, with a need to be loved, and never grow out of it.

And the next reads: Babies are stardust, sprinkled from the hand of God.

And the last one is on the humorous side: They are lovely once they are asleep, it's just getting them there that's the problem! Oh haven't we all been there! lol

Happy Hearts for positive people

I love hearts don't you? I decided to buy some wooden hearts to make little hangings to give away as Wedding Favours. At first I painted them all bright colours and then decided or rather backed out and repainted them Ivory. Each heart has a little positive quotation on the front, is edged with gold and then assorted coloured ribbon is tied for the hanging. They are so cute. The hearts measure 10cm high.....too small for Calligraphy, so they had to be printed.

They make great gifts, so the first idea of making them for Wedding Favours may be an optional extra :o)

Thay are on sale at the Gallery for £5 each. As always, if you are interested, please email me direct and I can send you a list of quotations available.

Girls Bedroom Sign- Perfect for a Princess

Every girl is a Princess....before she grows up to be a Goddess. This was a first trial piece which will be made to order. It's painted in a soft sugar pink and personalised with the little ones name.

The sign is a generous A4 size, so that's around 21cm x 29.7cm, on 8mm thick MDF. I am considering drilling the corners and hanging with sisal cord. The cost is £12.50 which includes P&P.

I will offer them for sale in my Folksy Shop very soon, but in the meantime if you want one to order, email me direct at inspiredbyscript@yahoo.co.uk
