Seating plans can be as simple or as decorative as you like. They tell your guests where to sit. My seating plans are usually created in conjunction with WEDDING POST BOXES and decorated to match.
so far has been the Butterfly design.

Here.... although it's not a fantastic photograph

And this one which was ordered from

And... ROYAL BLUE for Claire & John

It's amazing how different they can look,
depending on the colours used.

This one for Amy & Ian, saw me cutting out Ivy.

Given the idea I can turn my hand to many things lol.

And my latest one here is for Emily & Tom.
The table names were named after old

the butterflies are in flight :-)

I write the Bride and Grooms name in
calligraphy...makes it look extra special.

or get us to do it for you...

So.... whatever your colour scheme or

theme.... we can usually come up with

something, TOGETHER.

Ivy Themed, Personalised Wedding Invitations - Rebecca & Graham

I love making something, just that little bit different....
The Ivy themed wedding postbox was the starting point.
Made some time ago for my late husbands, cousins wedding
and long before I bought the foiling machine.

Ivy symbolises eternal fidelity & wedded bliss.
A popular Victorian tradition was for a bride to plant the ivy in her bouquet after the wedding and watch it grow through the years, passing down sprigs from the same plant for her daughters & granddaughters to use in their weddings.

The couple chose to have their Evening Invitations
and Money Request cards in a lush green foil....

And the Daytime, gate folded
Daytime Invitations in Silver Foil
so as to not over power the green ribbon.

Have you ever wondered about the traditions and customs
attached to weddings?I found this an interesting read

Wedding Traditions - Wedding Custom

Another great article, this time covering flower traditions
around the world is this one, by 'The Knot'

"It's not HOW MUCH you spend on the day... It's how you SPEND the day!"

My partner Steve found and read out THIS ARTICLE, claiming that up to a quarter of a million couples will get married this year and with an average budget of... £21,000!

The article

Hold the bubbly:

How to have a wedding on a budget

It's well worth a read!

While I agree with a lot of the article... I have to say... I've never met a couple in North Yorkshire or for that matter, Cleveland, County Durham and Cumbria, who are prepared to spend anywhere near as much as that! Most of my couples are spending between £7,000 & £10,000 ... making the 'average' £8,500.

I understand why suppliers of services hike their prices (and for the record we charge the same, whatever the occasion). It takes far longer to consult with a couple... often many time and with many changes, than it does for all other events. Couples can help themselves more by being clear right from the start and only agree to something once they have firmly made up their minds.

While we don't charge extra for Invitations, no matter what the occasion, we are having to consider a charge which will be incurred if the couple (usually the Bride I'm sorry to say) changes her mind and wants changes to the original consultation.

For a supplier of services, it can be a daunting task when dealing with many, many, emails backwards and forwards and often with days and sometimes weeks in between getting an answer. All this takes time, time that could be better spent producing items for a decisive bride.
In my opinion... why should a couple who come for a consultation (these often take an hour) pay the same as one who changes her mind, before (or even worse after) you've sent her idea for approval. Keeping track of brides emails can be a nightmare.... especially if they are slow to respond to any questions/concerns you may have.

What I don't agree with

£21,000 seems to me to be a ridiculous amount of money to be spending on one day! Certainly in North Yorkshire the budget is far lower. Do you think that the Brides have any less of a 'perfect day'? Absolutely not! I swear that these are London prices! Perhaps the Yorkshire couples are just a bit more savvy with their money and know a bargain when they see one. Hopefully they have more sense. Set a budget and know how to work through it by shopping local.

According to Wedding Budget Planners, Wedding Stationers get the lowest cut of the cake, just 4%.
Now if this is right... that means I get £840 per wedding! Ohhhh YES PLEASE! If this is true then I'm not pricing my work right. Even on an £8,5000 budget I do not get 4%.

If I leave you with nothing else...
it's with this thought....

"It's not HOW MUCH you spend on the day...
It's how you SPEND the day!"

There's something you should know about me....

And if my Brides and Grooms are Creative People too...
It all helps to make a magical mix!

What the world needs ....
is MORE creative people!

FEATURE FRIDAY! - Those Little Extras

So..... what do you mean by
Little Extras?

We have been asked for and made,
many different items over the years.

This page shows just a few of them :-)

Our tags are great  for people who want
to make things themselves and add a bit of
personalisation to their WEDDING FAVOURS or

anything else you-may have in mind.

The quotation reads
"All because two people met,
and fell in love"

But you can have any quotation printed that floats your boat.

Here they are being used on mini buckets,

filled with love hearts ... cute aren't they?

Probably the most popular quotation I have ever come across....
I have lettered this on paper, canvas and greeting cards that many times I've lost count.

'Two souls with a single thought,

Two hearts that beat as one'

And here it is used on a mini candle favour. Light a candle, make a wish....

Now..... these I just HAVE to share with you. A client came in having an Easter Wedding and wanted me to make some egg cups, so that she could use them as both her Wedding Favours AND her place cards. We first tried wood.... but they didn't turn out so well.... then we found some china pens... this is the result...And I have made many more since then. The Bride added a Kinder Egg, bought in bulk from a wholesalers. FAB IDEA!

WEDDING SIGNS in paper, wood and card are increasingly popular. These signs below are made from MDF. The size of the board and therefore the cost is determined by how many words you want on them. Prices for these start at just £7.50

WISHING or BLESSING TREES are largely taking place over guest books these days. There's something magical about writing out a *WISH* and tying it to a tree for the happy couple to be....

I made these tags which can be personalised

and a message of your own choosing can be added.

Here's a close-up with some brightly coloured stuffed hearts. You could hang MDF or wooden hearts if your Wedding is more VINTAGE or SHABBY CHIC.

I hire the Wishing Trees out, but the tags look just as good hanging from twisted hazel or willow, available from most florists, popped in a jar :-)

A word of caution though, which might be a blessing or a bind... the willow will root pretty well in water.... as I found out when I tried this at the shop!

Strewn with battery powered fairy lights these look magical!

I know a lot of Brides are into DIY these days to save a bit of money wherever they can... these personalised Wedding Tags can be glued to larger more colourful pieces of card and a cut out paper butterfly can look pretty cool!

You can make them any size you want.

We produce all kinds of printed and foiled items.

The only limit is your imagination

Prices are based on size and not quantity
Wishing Tree Tags for example
Start from as little as 45p each
Even less if you are
using your own ribbon.

Table name cards....
Gift ideas.....
Table number cards.....

So.... if you are looking for something entirely different
and have an idea or 2... give us a call and we'll see what we can do.

As always.... contact us for further details.
