Real Yorkshire Weddings - Abigail & Nicolas

The best thing about meeting a Bride and Groom in person is very often their initial ideas and theme of wedding can sometimes turn into something much better.
Abigale & Nick were having a golf themed wedding and during discussion it became clear that some of the ideas may look a little childish and like a kids party invite.

When I was told the Bride was from Yorkshire and the Groom from Durham, I suggested we put the two emblems together and create on that joined them in harmony and this resulted in a nice cohesive blend which we could carry though from the invitations right through to the On the Day stationery.

Below are just a few of the items I made for them.

And a lovely email followed:

Just back from Neasham, sorting out the marquee and wanted to thank you for all your help ,advice and expertise over the last few months. Many guests commented on the seating plan, postbox, order of service and posters, loving the high quality and classiness of all you did. It looked amazing and the whole day was magical and went off as smooth as silk, everything slotted beautifully into place, even the weather after that horrible storm, just as the wedding ars arrived at our house, got drier and drier and sunnier and sunnier, even managed some photos on the river bank. It was just perfect, over too soon and thoroughly enjoyable. Abigail and Nick are going off on a minimoon tomorrow until Friday but will be in touch with her thoughts etc. when she gets back. Peter will drop the easel and post box off at yours on Tuesday. We are going up to Neasham to house and dog sit for them but P has to come back into town for a docs appointment on Tuesday, so will call in. Just a bib thank you you have been a star throughout!

Wording Ideas for Your Wedding Thank You Cards

After planning your entire wedding, you are probably feeling overwhelmed and tired and the last thing you want to think about is Thank You cards. Right? but if your guests hadn’t turned up and bestowed you with both their presence and presents I can assure you, that your wedding would have been pretty crap. The least you can do is send them a card to show your gratitude.

Wording can be a stumbling block so here are a few Wording Examples for Your Wedding Thank You Cards:
1, Thanks to you
“Thank you so much for celebrating with us on our wedding day. It truly was the best day ever and it would not have been the same without you! We are so grateful for your generosity and for sharing our most special day ever with us.”
Your family & friends really made your wedding day, right?
Well tell them by saying: “Best day ever, thanks to you!”

2, Even more magical..
“Thank you for celebrating with us on our wedding day! Your presence made the day even more magical. We are very grateful and happy to have such amazing friends and family. Thank you for the generous gift. We appreciate all the love and support.”

3, From the gusts of wind..
“We loved sharing our wedding day with you, and we wanted to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making the day so memorable, and for your generous wedding gift.
From the gusts of wind during the ceremony to the laughter and tears of happiness during the speeches, to the skilful moves on the dance floor, it made our day so special and one we will never forget.
We feel so lucky to have so many wonderful people in our lives.”

4, Are you feeling lucky?
“From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank you for celebrating our marriage with us. It was the most incredible day of our lives, and it wouldn’t have been the same without you.
We are so lucky to be surrounded by a beautiful circle of friends and family that made our wedding day perfect. We are grateful for your presence, warm wishes and generous gift and look forward to sharing many more memories with you!”

5, Words that speak volume
“It meant the world to us to have you as part of our wedding day.
Thank you for the love and laughter that you have contributed to our lives. We are so glad that you were able to join us (insert place or venue name) on our first day as husband and wife.
It was the most wonderful day of our lives and it would not have been the same without you! We are truly grateful for your generosity and presence on our special day.”

6, The most important part
“From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank you for sharing in our special day and making it the most memorable days of our lives. From getting wet during the ceremony and then dancing the night away under the stars on the dance floor we definitely felt the love from you all on the day.
Thank you so much for your generous gift. This will help us create our new home when it is built.
We are looking forward to sharing the next chapter of our lives together and sharing many more memories with you all.”

7, A dream come true
“We thank our family and friends for celebrating our joy, supporting us and sharing in our love. We sincerely thank you for making our day perfect and sharing in the day our dreams came true.”

8, Spill the beans
“Thank you so much for being a part of our wedding day. It was so great to have you all there to celebrate with us.
We really appreciate all your kind and generous gifts and contributions toward our honeymoon. We had the most amazing time travelling around Italy in September/October.
We can’t wait to see what the future will bring for us and we are excited for you to be a part of it.”

9, Made it!
“We made it through our 1st year!
From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to extend a belated, but heartfelt thank you for travelling near and far to share in the joy of our wedding. We had the most amazing day which was made all the more memorable as we were able to share it with you.

Your love, warm wishes and generous gift are truly appreciated. Thank you!”
