Sunflower inspired wedding invitations and on the day stationery

I just LOVE sunflowers don't you?
They are one of those flowers that brighten up even the dullest days and catch the smallest glimmer of light. They never cease to make me smile.

A few ideas for a sunflower themed wedding.....

First off....a flat sunflower  invitation,
more commonly used for Evening invitations

Sunflower pocket fold invitation.
Perfect if you have lots of bits of information such as travel,
 accommodation, RSVP's to include.

Sunflowers can be incorporated in all your decor....
like these sunflower table napkin wraps.

These sunflowers were from Teesside Hospice.
These small badges not only support a local charity, but make great place cards
and can double up as a wedding favour too.

Yellow sunflowers look great when teamed up
with Royal Blue.... as in this sunflower post box

And the sunflower seating plan doesn't escape
the sunshine smile treatment.

What are your favourite flowers and why?
Is your wedding arranged round a favourite flower?
Share your thoughts.

Happy planning,

Winter Inspired Wedding Invitations and Stationery- Karen & Tony

Planning a winter/Christmas wedding is probably the most challenging.
Instead of fighting it, Karen & Tony decided to embrace it.

All the ideas are Karen's... I was merely the person
who executed her ideas.

"Your ideas are our inspiration!"

For the Invitations, Karen went along with a Holly theme....
She liked a previous design I had done, so we simply added Holly Leaves
instead of the plain leaves......

Once all the R.S.V.P's are in....
we can concentrate on the 'On the Day' details,
which help to enhance and personalise the Wedding reception.

The 'Order of the Day' Cards
were the same border as used in the Invitations.

We used Red and Green inside

The table names too had the same border...
this time without the heavy line above and below the design
as this would have made the border too overpowering
and the letters to light-weight,
it's all about balance.....

Rather than place cards, Karen wanted Holly leaves
with holes, to tie onto the wedding favours,

which are to be Cumbrian Gingerbread in little gold chests

And.... voila!
Here they are 78 cut out holly leaves

With consultation I decided that Gold just had to be used for the calligraphy,
not only will to compliment the gold box... but looks pretty classy too!

I don't get to do as much calligraphy these days as I used to...
so it's nice to get my fingers covered in paint and keep my hand in.

Instead of our usual Wishing Tree Tags,
Karen suggested we make some red and green foiled baubles
Here they are before the holes are punched and the ribbon added...

And along with a poem seen at the centre/top....
the order is complete.

A few days earlier, I'd been playing with some doodles
and made them into tags to add to my mail order packages.
Just something a little different and quirky.

A little bit of fun brightens everyones day
and we just can't help those creative juices coming out to play :-)

I'd love to make a selection of designs, directed at the December/Christmas couples... but for once, apart from Holly and Snowflakes, my idea pot is empty.

Anyone got any bright ideas?
Did you get married in December?
If so... what was your theme?

Leave a comment or email me at
I'd love to hear from you!

Butterly Inspired Wedding Invitations and Stationery

Butterflies are still very popular when it comes to Weddings. I was strolling through some old blog posts and came across this. from way back in August 2012.. so I thought I'd re-share it for those who need a bit of inspiration :-)

Hot Pink, Wedding Stationery
and Accessories for
Karen and Richard

Very often there are 2 parts to every wedding order.
The first part is the Daytime and Evening Invitations,
Save the Date Cards and RSVP.

Once the numbers have been gathered in, it's easier to order the right amount of 'On the Day Items.

Here we have 80 hot pink
wedding wishing tree butterfly tags

And of course the wishing tree sign

Hot Pink foiled table numbers
again with butterflies

8 Butterfly Menus.... 1 for each table

And a beautiful Hot Pink
Butterfly themed Wedding Post Box

And a close up of the front

The punched out butterflies all had a little diamante,
adding that extra glitz and sparkle.

There's still the Seating Plan and place cards to make,
once the final confirmations of names have been received
and the list checked for any spelling errors.

I loved making up this order
as there was no restrictions  on how I went about it.
The brief was:

Hot Pink,
Butterflies,
and NO
there can't be too many of them,
and do it however you like!

Great stuff.... that means I can go to town
and give it my all.... and I think it shows!

And finally the following HOT PINK Wedding Seating Plan
and Butterfly Place cards, complete the Wedding Stationery order of Karen and Richard.

The seating plan consists of 9 tables.
The top table is at the centre top
for visual purposes.....

And here's the detail of the Bride and Grooms
names as the header. All foiled in beautiful Hot Pin and decorated with butterflies.

Karen gave me free reign, with her parting shot being... "Oh do what you want.... you're the expert".  I took that to mean,
I could go crazy with diamante and butterflies.....so I did!

I printed hot pink butterflies n the place cards
to match all the other stationery here and then mixed
a wonderful fuchsia pink for the lettering of 80 place cards.

And the whole thing looks fab! I've been told I can have a picture of the table when it is set up. It's always nice to see the finished look when it's put in situ with the table centre pieces and decorations, but sadly we are not very often there at the wedding to actually take photos.

Still looking for inspiration?

Hot Pink On The Day Stationery - Victoria & Andrew

The date on the top of this seating plan...
shows you just how far behind I am!

Although Andrew was against
'Too much hot pink'
we soon won him round and in fact...
he was more than keen with the idea
once we could show him how stunning
the colour can look.

I had already made the Wedding Invitations
some months before.
So these were the little extras that people
like to have which we call
'On The Day' stuff.

PLEASE NOTE: 'Stuff' is a great Yorkshire word for
Bit and Bobs and items too numerous to mention

Here's the Wedding Post Box

And the place cards...

Andrew had seen my display vase
and decided that instead of the usual Tent Cards,
The numbers would look good like this....

I think Vicky and Andrew managed to get hold of some cream coloured jugs,
And filled them with natural flowers.

The table numbers could then be hung from the handle.... cute eh?
