The perfect wedding favour solution that helps charities along the way

What can I give as a Wedding Favour?
The perfect wedding favour solution
that helps charities along the way

I'm often asked this question
by already cash strapped couples.
 Here's a solution that's been used
by more than a handful of couples.
We're all for doing our bit for charity
so we think this is a great idea!

Bracelets for the boys

And the girls

Pins for everyone else

For the young ones some teddies

With the personalised cards,
these favours were used as place cards too.

Tumbling Heart, Red Inspired Wedding Invitations & Stationery - Lyndsay & Craig

This is what happens when you carry a theme right the way through...
Tumbling Heart, Red Inspired Wedding Invitations & Stationery - Lindsay & Craig

Lindsay & Craig chose the Tumbling Heart Design
For their daytime invitations....

And evening invitations too....

The venue, Allerton Court Hotel, Northallerton,
 also offered a menu choice
and these were sent with the RSVP's

Once the R.S.V.P's are back, it's time to make the seating plan...

The red border reflects the colours chosen for their
Bridesmaids dresses......

And the silver on ivory complimented it beautifully.....

We offer many solutions when it comes to table names and numbers
Flat cards need something to stand on.... like a mini easel
or one of the many card holders available

We prefer to make these
Stand Alone cards......

And of course we can introduce you colour scheme into them too....

And we made the place cards to match.
All the names are written in Calligraphy

Which offers a truly personal touch.....

We use Gouache paint as it's far less likely to bleed and smude
and once dry gives crisp lines and is also opaque
so you can easily have white letters on a dark coloured cardstock

In the modern age of computer lettering
people LOVE to see their names hand lettered
and in the case of unusual names, it's very often the
only thing they have ever had, which is personalised with their names

I mean.... it's not often you see this is it?

And of course.... once the celebrations are over,
it's important to THANK YOU GUESTS!
A little acknowledgement goes a long way!

So.... there you have it. A full wedding order from start to finish. Sadly the 'On the Day' stationery often gets overlooked when it comes to Wedding Photography, especially in the UK. But the 'On the Day' items are as important as the balloons and table sprinkles.  It would be lovely to see how everything comes together... especially when Menus and Order of Services and Order of the Day are involved too. But unless I gatecrash the party or hire a private photographer, it's unlikely I'll get to see it.

I'm sure... along with all the other bits and pieces of the wedding day, the whole thing looked fabulous and of course... the most important thing is, that everyone had a really great and memorable day.

Butterly Inspired Wedding Invitations and Stationery

Butterflies are still very popular when it comes to Weddings. I was strolling through some old blog posts and came across this. from way back in August 2012.. so I thought I'd re-share it for those who need a bit of inspiration :-)

Hot Pink, Wedding Stationery
and Accessories for
Karen and Richard

Very often there are 2 parts to every wedding order.
The first part is the Daytime and Evening Invitations,
Save the Date Cards and RSVP.

Once the numbers have been gathered in, it's easier to order the right amount of 'On the Day Items.

Here we have 80 hot pink
wedding wishing tree butterfly tags

And of course the wishing tree sign

Hot Pink foiled table numbers
again with butterflies

8 Butterfly Menus.... 1 for each table

And a beautiful Hot Pink
Butterfly themed Wedding Post Box

And a close up of the front

The punched out butterflies all had a little diamante,
adding that extra glitz and sparkle.

There's still the Seating Plan and place cards to make,
once the final confirmations of names have been received
and the list checked for any spelling errors.

I loved making up this order
as there was no restrictions  on how I went about it.
The brief was:

Hot Pink,
Butterflies,
and NO
there can't be too many of them,
and do it however you like!

Great stuff.... that means I can go to town
and give it my all.... and I think it shows!

And finally the following HOT PINK Wedding Seating Plan
and Butterfly Place cards, complete the Wedding Stationery order of Karen and Richard.

The seating plan consists of 9 tables.
The top table is at the centre top
for visual purposes.....

And here's the detail of the Bride and Grooms
names as the header. All foiled in beautiful Hot Pin and decorated with butterflies.

Karen gave me free reign, with her parting shot being... "Oh do what you want.... you're the expert".  I took that to mean,
I could go crazy with diamante and butterflies.....so I did!

I printed hot pink butterflies n the place cards
to match all the other stationery here and then mixed
a wonderful fuchsia pink for the lettering of 80 place cards.

And the whole thing looks fab! I've been told I can have a picture of the table when it is set up. It's always nice to see the finished look when it's put in situ with the table centre pieces and decorations, but sadly we are not very often there at the wedding to actually take photos.

Still looking for inspiration?

Hot Pink On The Day Stationery - Victoria & Andrew

The date on the top of this seating plan...
shows you just how far behind I am!

Although Andrew was against
'Too much hot pink'
we soon won him round and in fact...
he was more than keen with the idea
once we could show him how stunning
the colour can look.

I had already made the Wedding Invitations
some months before.
So these were the little extras that people
like to have which we call
'On The Day' stuff.

PLEASE NOTE: 'Stuff' is a great Yorkshire word for
Bit and Bobs and items too numerous to mention

Here's the Wedding Post Box

And the place cards...

Andrew had seen my display vase
and decided that instead of the usual Tent Cards,
The numbers would look good like this....

I think Vicky and Andrew managed to get hold of some cream coloured jugs,
And filled them with natural flowers.

The table numbers could then be hung from the handle.... cute eh?

Red, Blue and Green Wedding Invitations - Cassie & John

Red, Blue and Green
Wedding Invitations
Cassie & John

The wedding colour theme for Cassie and John
came from Johns Scottish ancestry.

there theme was to be a tartan one,
however, we don't have a tartan foil...
so we had to think a bit creatively here.

We (between us)
decided that the Folded Daytime Invitations
Would be Ivory and foiled in Red...

And the Flat Evening Invitations too.....

We made the RSVP cards in Blue foil
And the 'Money not Gift' Request Cards
in a beautiful Emerald Green.....

Apologies for the rather pale next few pictures...
they were taken on my iPad and the photos look
ok on that, but they do funny things on Blogger :-)

We made the seating plan in the same colours,
using red for the foil lettering and as the main colour.
The green border and blue butterflies, helped tie it all in.

Here's a very poor close up....

Then, the post box....
here I tried to tie it in as best I could
with the seating plan....

And last of all....
These mini Lottery Ticket Envelopes
A small Blue and Green butterfly
to match the theme of butterflies
running right through this order....
An personalised with Red Gouache Calligraphy,
to make them even more special.

Some colour themes leave you
with a bit of head scratching,
but with a bit of creative thinking....
things usually work out in the end.

What do you think?
Like? or not?

If you had a Scottish Themed Wedding,
how did you get everything to fit in?

or email me at

I'd love to hear your stories :-)
Blessings, Sue x

A week in the studio of Inspired by Script

As most people who know me and are familiar with Inspired by Script know, the studio is open Tuesdays - Saturdays, so I try and catch up with my Blogging and paperwork on a  Monday.
During busy times it's hard to blog as each job is completed and so I'll try at least to do a once a week post. Finally, I seem to have caught up with all the orders and this week (hopefully) I'll be spending time creating some new designs :-)

First item on the agenda last week were some table names for Nicky and Adam.... these are their Wedding Invitations so they had to match......

Again the gorgeous Kingfisher Blue foil was used and Nicky & Adam
named each table after a type of butterfly.... lovely!

Then there were some Kingfisher Blue place cards to do
who had chosen the same colour scheme......

I was at a Wedding Fair the week before and was approached
by the lovely Constance from Connie's Cakes
This is her work below and you can see more on her website
Connie makes the fab figures and her lovely mum bakes the cakes!

Her and her mum had seen my Egg Cups
and wanted me to do not only Egg Cups,
but a matching Bride and Groom plate and mug too.
I had to admit I hadn't done plates before,
but there's a first time for everything....

The plates were probably easier than the Egg Cup and Mug put together :-)

Then it was on to Enna and Stephens
'On the Day' stuff.
I'd already made the Wedding Post Box,

And cut the hearts for the Seating plan....
but the Seating Plan is one of the last things to be made
as my clients have to wait for last minute replies to their invitations.....

I took the inspiration from the hanging hearts,
which I really loved and worked well....

And .... there we have it....
The finished seating plan :-)

Then, some lush violet paint was mixed.....

And the place cards completed.

Phew! A wide a varied week for me. It's so nice sometimes to do bits and pieces. It sort of keeps my mind flowing and my enthusiasm going. Don't get me wrong, I love creating the Wedding Stationery, but the 'On the Day' stuff is just as important to me. Variety id the spice of life.... or so they say :-)

And so came the weekend and I want to share this magic moment with you. .... Whatever the weather, Steve and I were determined to get out in the fresh air and blow off some cobwebs.  These days we seem to work all day everyday and find very little time for ourselves. So we decided to pack a picnic and get ourselves off to Studley Royal. (near Ripon, North Yorkshire).

Steve especially had never seen Deer running free. At reception we were told the that even though they had around 300 deer there, the chances of seeing them were pretty remote..... but he managed to spot one and get a pretty good picture.....

And further on and round the corner..... we were blessed with this......

Whoooooah! That must be the whole damn herd then!
I LOVE those MAGIC moments, do't you?

Don't forget....
